Comiso is a few minutes from the fascinating architectural liberty style of Vittoria and a bit further away from the baroque historic centre of Ragusa (20km), Modica (40km) and Scicli (50km), small towns which have been awarded Human Heritage Site statuses by UNESCO.

All the area within the province of Ragusa is famous for its high quality of wine and food, with excellent products such as the “Cioccolato di Modica” (chocolate), olive oil, vegetables and cheese.

Our Mediterranean sea and all the south-east of Sicily, famous for its fine golden sand, can be reached in less than 15minutes. Marina di Ragusa will welcome you with its amazing touristic port opened in 2010 and along a path 60km long can be seen fascinating places which will take your breath away: from the “Montalbano’s house” film set in Punta Secca, to the seasides of Cava D’Aliga and Donnalucata, to Sampieri beach with its burnt factory, that is also a great example of industrial archaeology, and also Maganugo beach, Pozzallo with its Cabrera Tower, Santa Maria del Focallo beach, ideal for kitesurf lovers, the beautiful natural reserve of Vendicari, Portopalo with the fascinating island of Correnti and Capo Passero and, at the end, Marzamemi, an arabesque seaside area with a great cultural vitality and culinary tradition made of fish and good wine, that is also the ideal place where to start boat trips.

Not only can the sea and nature enchant you, but also the archaeology and its surroundings, above all with the extraordinary sites of Kamarina and Cava d’Ispica, to the suggestive Bronze Age necropolis of Pantalica.

And for all those who want to go further toward the north of the Island, the city of Caltagirone and all its area, only 40km far, will surprise you with traditions and characteristic hand-painted ceramic products.

At the end, for those who love golf, Donnafugata Parkland is only 15km from Melfi Palace.
